The institute is designed to equip participants with the tools necessary to understand and work in the world of economic development. Topics are taught by local and national economic developers in partnership with the University of Kentucky and Murray State University to ensure the best instruction is offered to prepare participants with the skills and network to accelerate economic development in their communities.
This four day course takes place each August and is accredited by the International Economic Development council. It fulfills one of the prerequisites for those who wish to take the examinations for the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation.
